Outfit of the Day (30 Days of Lolita Challenge Day 16)

March 17, 2019

Hoh boy, the last few weeks have been a whirlwind. Work is picking up, so I'm spending more hours out during the day. Spring cleaning's come around and my apartment needs work bad. I signed up for an evening program at my local communiy college (more on this soon!) and have been ticking and tacking away at my keyboard or scribbling in a notebook half the time on various projects. In the last month or so there have been a few new websites (more on this soon, as well), new ventures, new collaborations, and new stressors to go along with them.

And don't get me wrong: by no means am I complaining! I love being busy, and I love the thrill of diving in to something new. That said, I've had to skip at least one meetup from being booked last-minute to work (at the time being, I do prioritize extra income over meetups) or having set plans to do important tasks (namely, moving furniture or make meetings to enroll for school).

Sadly, meetups are largely when I wear lolita. Not getting to go on a regular basis has been a huge buzz-kill when it comes to putting together outfits and actually wearing lolita. Bummer.

Since I haven't been to a meetup in a couple weeks, I've decided to give a rundown of the previous coord I posted. I wore it to a meetup at a lovely little Korean dessert cafe.

I took the photo in the middle of getting dressed, so please forgive that some items are missing from the final shot. I find my own lack of foresight disturbing.

The dress is "Pirates and the Crown Rose" from the TaoBao brand Sweet Addiction. I actually finally stitched it up just to wear it to a meet!

The blouse is from Restyle, though I can't recall the name. I remember having to buy it from a third party seller on amazon because it was out of stock on the Restyle store when I wanted to buy it! I was really adamant on having it because it was fully shirred and had a lovely neckline that could be worn collared or off-shoulder. I have quite a few simple black blouses, but I always end up reaching for this one.

The tights are offbrand. I think I found them at Ross! They are actually textured with a rose pattern that happened to compliment the coordinate.

I found the shoes at a thirft store - they're my go-to pair when it comes to lolita because they're simple but not plain, and they go with most dresses without a snag.

In addition to the photo shown, I also added a belt from Restyle. I was feeling a little bulky because the JSK was sitting a little high on my waist, so I used the belt to accentuate my actual waistline.

The went without most accessories because I wanted to keep the coordinate fairly casual, but I did add a black-and-red flower crown veil I got a couple years ago from Claire's. Seriously, do not underestimate normie shops during Halloween.

Do you have a favorite piece or go-to outfit? What are your favorites?
